COMMUNITY LIFE

COMMUNITY The church is not the building, the church is the people who gather to worship together. And the truth of the matter is that our health is largely dependent upon our ability to do life together.

At Longview Nazarene our aim is to have meaningful and vibrant worship when we come together but that is only the beginning.  We believe that Christ calls us into authentic community as well where we can grow as we share life together.

We gather on Sunday mornings at 10:30am for our weekly worship service.  Audio recordings of the service can be found on the media tab above.  But along with our Sunday worship, we offer  other means of connection are available through various small groups and ministries sponsored by the church.

Our CORE groups are specifically designed to find this connection. But we have various other groups and ways to engage in community with one another.   Every participant in our worship is encouraged to find a meaningful way to connect with a group outside of our larger Sunday worship service. If you're looking for ways to get connected, please contact Pastor Bethanie.

Sunday School

We believe that discipleship happens in both large and small groups. Our Sunday school classes are biblically based and a chance to delve deeper into the scriptures.  Sunday school begins at 9:00 am.  We offer classes for adults, youth, children and nursery services for young toddlers and infants.  The folks at our welcome center would love to tell you about our class offerings and show you where the various classes meet.

Worship

We believer that we were made to be in relationship to our creator.  We also believe that we are called to give thanks and praise to the God who created us, who sustains us and who gives us abundant life.  Finally, we believe that we are called together as a community to give expression to this thanks and praise.

In worship we are gathered together to thank and praise our God, we are taught by the word as God speaks to us through the scriptures and through those who would preach.  We are also nourished by the sacraments and then sent back into our world that we might share the news of a God who loves us and who saves us.

CORE Groups

Along with worship, we believe that the live of discipleship is one that must extend beyond Sunday.  Our CORE groups meet in 4 sessions throughout the year with breaks over the summer and during the holiday season.  CORE groups are small groups meeting together to pray for one another, to encourage one another, to study with one another and to share life together.  For more information click HERE.

Kessler Partnership

In our efforts to Love our community several churches in our neighborhood  have formed a partnership with Kessler elementary school just up the street from us.  There are many ways in which we can partner with Kessler:

-  Serve as a volunteer in the school. (Background check required)

-  Help prepare/serve a meal to teachers during in-service days.

-  Send notes of encouragement to teachers/staff/administration.

There are lots of other ways to serve.  Contact Pastor Bethanie at the church office for more information.
