Good Friday 24 Hour Prayer Vigil

Thought the history of the church there has been a custom to pause between Good Friday and Easter morning to 'keep watch' in prayer.  If on Good Friday we descend into the darkness of Christ's crucifixion, on Holy Saturday we experience what it is to wait in expectation of God's powerful action which we celebrate on Easter Morning.  So this Holy Week, we too will pause for prayer in between Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

The prayer vigil was originally proposed as a way to take specific time to pray for the youth of our church as they face the unprecedented challenges of adolescence in the digital age.  While we will still focus on the young people of our church and community, we invite you to take time to pray for the church (local and universal) and the cause of the gospel in our world which desperately needs the hope found only in Jesus Christ.

The Vigil will take place from 7pm on Good Friday (immediately following our service) and end at 7pm on Saturday.  We will not have a prayer room set up at the church this year due to COVID protocols, however, our aim is to have at least one person praying each hour for the full 24 hours.  Once you sign up, we will send you a list of church prayer concerns for you to pray over during your time slot.
